The Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting/Allied Health degree prepares students to perform various clinical duties. These include taking patient histories, measuring vital signs, assisting physicians with examinations, giving injections as directed by the physician, venipuncture, performing laboratory test and performing electrocardiograms. Also, students will learn administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, preparing insurance claims and medical billing services.
The Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting/Allied Health training program provides the hands-on training, practical experience and professional support it takes to become a successful, certified medical lab professional. And, successful graduates of this program can enter the professional world with confidence, knowing they have the necessary skills to succeed in the field.
This streamlined program is normally completed in as little 14 months.

Day Classes or Lab: Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00am-1:00pm.
Evening Classes or Lab: Monday – Thursday between the hours of 5:30pm – 9:30pm.
Externship is scheduled to mirror the hours of operation within the Extern site between 8AM – 5PM.
The Day students will be scheduled for a minimum of 30 hours per week externship during the day.
The Evening students will be scheduled a minimum of 20 hours per week externship during the day.
As an Associate of Science in Medical Assisting/Allied Health student you will receive real world experience in an actual medical setting through a professional externship. The student gains practical on-the-job experience working with experienced medical professionals and make important industry connections before you graduate.
